Recreational Vehicle Pads or, RV Pads, are not the same as parking spots, in fact, they’re actually more like boat slips, since there are actual amenities at each. For example, at a boat slip there is typically an electrical outlet nearby so that you can clean or use power tools on your boat. Similarly, there are often electrical hookups for RVs at RV pads.
RV pads are often part of a campground for people who like to do a bit of “glamping” as opposed to hiking, and setting up a tent. Honestly, both ways of camping are appealing to me, and it’s really just about whether I want to totally get away from people (tent) or don’t mind being within 100 feet of several other people.
Where can you find RV pads for sale or rent?
You can find and list RV pads for rent on the Micro Real Estate website! Also, if you’re looking to make an investment in a small piece of real estate, you can also find RV pads for sale on the MRE website.
Advantages of RVs and RV pads
Obviously, driving an RV is great for long road trips because you can park it just about anywhere and sleep for the night, but you might also want to rent an RV pad for a week in a cool spot to take advantage of proximity to a town, or some beautiful views. So, while it’s great to travel with your home on your back, sometimes it’s nice to park in a spot for a week or so.
RVing make a whole lot of sense for digital nomads, just like how van-life became popular among full time remote workers during the pandemic. Van-life has been around for decades, and RVing is probably the most successful version of nomadic living that has lasted decades due to all of the different price points of RVs. Vans were relatively inexpensive during the pandemic, but since inflation has taken hold, van-life got more expensive – along with everything else.
